Today’s deputy must be agile, well-rounded and strategically minded to best serve and protect our community here in Washington County. This is why we are pleased to announce the opening of our new Public Safety Training Center (PSTC). Designed to be comprehensive and holistic in approach, it offers everything today’s deputy needs to train at elite levels. Located off SW Walnut Street in Hillsboro, the $20 million, 100,000 square-foot PSTC is poised to become the premier law enforcement training facility in the Pacific Northwest.
An exciting aspect of the PSTC is scenario village and scenario jail, which exposes patrol and jail deputies to a multitude of real-world scenarios encountered on the job. The PSTC also features a state-of-the-art firearms range, Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) with 3.5 acres of paved training space, and three physical training rooms.
We are incredibly fortunate to have this training space for our deputies, staff and public safety partners throughout the community. Thanks to everyone who helped make our dream of an elite training facility a reality.
